Kintla is out of my second litter of Brittanys, whelped in October, 2017.
Kintla was always the laid back, quiet, though still ready to play puppy, and that still stands today. Pretty chill about just about anything that happens in her life, as long as overly loud noises aren't involved. I will admit, because I try to be transparent, that yes, she is gunshy. She's also afraid of fireworks and storms, and smoke alarms also do not sit well with her.

Thankfully however, that hasn't translated to her puppies in any way shape or form, because all of them could care less about all of the above. And since the issue of her being afraid of loud noises started at a field trial after a blank pistol was fired right as she passed behind another handler (this was in no way shape or form intentional on the other handlers part), I'm pretty sure it's more on me than genetics.

We didn't know it had bothered her that bad until it had really set in. At this point I'm trying to set myself up so that I may be able to start getting her over the fear of gunfire, but for now, she's a happy cuddle companion who will start agility training hopefully within the next year, something I'm certain she'll do well at, being very handler oriented, quick, and agile.

Kintla is a very showy girl who, despite her size, held her own in the show ring against larger, more mature looking dogs. Even at 4 years old, she looks like a puppy, which is mostly due to her size. She stands just under 18" at the shoulder (but still within the 17 1/2" minimum), and at a good weight tops out at about 28-30 pounds.

She started her show career at 6 months old, where she picked up a couple Reserve Winner's Bitch awards to her half sister Turah (GCH Warbonnet's Wynd Turing Firestarter JH), and Spunky, until she was 7 months old when she picked up her first major in Coeur D'Alene, Idaho.
We struggled a little bit to finish her because, again, her size. She was just the odd duck out against the bigger dogs, including her half sister Spunky, who I was also showing at the time in Bred By. But we got her there, and the she went on to be a special. After we finally finished her, because for some reason with Kintla, I cannot correctly count her points, which isn't a problem anymore as she's retired from the show ring until she turns 7 and can compete in Veterans.

At 16 months old she competed in the American Brittany Club's Central Futurity in Idalia, Colorado back in 2019, as well as the Skyline Brittany Club's Specialty Show. At the Specialty she won Best Puppy in Sweeps, and at the Futurity she won Second Money Female. Both Specialty and Futurity judges said "I love her, she's a beautiful mover, I just wish there was more to her physically."

But we kept showing her regardless, and she finished three months later in Coeur D'Alene, the same show where she picked up her first points the year before.

She's a sweet little girl who loves to go on hikes (she's one of two dogs I have that are fully reliable off leash outside of hunting scenarios), LOVES the water and will fetch sticks out of bodies of water all day if I let her, and loves playing in the snow. She also likes to snuggle and / or try to suffocate me by laying on my face when she wants attention in the morning, because I can give her so much attention if I'm dead. Dog logic.Kintla was bred in 2020 to GCHG DC Sovereign's Chasing Legends (Hobey), who at the Skyline Brittany Club's Specialty show that Kintla won Best Puppy at, he himself won Best Veteran in Sweeps.Hobey is a dog I always admired in the breed. I loved watching him through his show career through the Brittany Club's Magazine, and said if I ever got into breeding, he was a dog I'd want in my line. So the dream became reality through Kintla, and I cannot be happier with the results I got. I got two Champions out of the litter, one of which went on to be a Grand Champion, and the second is about to start working towards Rally titles.
